Summer Camps

Acting Out Theatre Company's summer camp programs are a time for young people to have fun, gain self-confidence, work together as a group and learn life-long public speaking skills

For our full day camps, rehearsals take place over the course of one or two weeks. The cast meets every day from 9 AM - 3 PM. Over the course of the week or weeks, the ensemble will be guided through a curriculum that allows them devise, or create, their own show. The program culminates with a performance on the stage for family and friends at 2:30 PM on the last day of camp.

 Harry Potter 1 ¾

Using the question, ‘What happened during the summer between Harry Potter books one and two?’ as inspiration, our actors will spend two weeks working with professional actors to create their own play. Every camper will have a voice in the process and a role of their own creation. The play will be performed at 2:30 the last day of camp.

For our half day camps, classes take place 9 AM - 12 PM over the course of one week. In these process-based camps, our young actors will explore the world of theatre through a specific piece of text. By bringing the page to the stage, they will learn stage directions, basic theatre terms, and fun theatre games, to name a few. Every day they will bring home a design project they created themselves and on the last day we invite you into the classroom at 11:30 AM for a sharing.

The goal for the camp is to create an atmosphere for your actor that's engaging, inspiring, and collaborative.
