What is Theatre for the Very Young?

Theatre for the Very Young (TVY) is an immersive form of theatre performed by professional actors for young people ages 0-5 and their grownups. These fun, interactive productions are created with the smallest members of our society in mind.

No-Shushing Rule

This means there's no need to leave the theatre or feel the need to “shhh” your young person if they are having a great time. All sounds, emotions, and movements are welcome.

TVY is…

  • a cultural experience for children 0-5 on their own terms

  • a welcoming and safe environment for children and grown-ups share a creative playful experience together

  • builds a simple story with the audience through repetition and participation

  • about 45 minutes from beginning to end
